Production Development Engineer

Front facade of the Alumess factory building in Ningbo

Location: Ningbo Baolong High-tech Zone, China

Do you spot a missing tolerance before it causes delays or problems in production? Can you turn incomplete customer drawings into clear and executable manufacturing documentation? Then we would like to hear from you.

As a Production Development Engineer, you operate at the technical intersection between Sales and Production. You assess the technical feasibility of new requests, complete missing information and ensure that our Production and Quality teams know exactly what is required.

Your work helps us prevent ambiguity, production delays and unexpected issues on the shop floor.

What will you do?

You will be responsible for the technical assessment and preparation of new requests and projects. Together with Sales, you determine whether a request is technically feasible and under which conditions it can be produced.

Your responsibilities include:

    • Analysing and technically reviewing RFQs;

    • Classifying requests as GO, GO with conditions or NO-GO;

    • Reviewing, correcting and completing customer drawings;

    • Defining tolerances, specifications and production requirements;

    • Preparing and maintaining complete manufacturing documentation;

    • Coordinating technical requirements with Sales, Production and Quality;

    • Resolving ambiguities before documentation is released to Production;

    • Conducting post-launch reviews;

    • Continuously improving specifications and technical documentation.

You will work across a broad range of manufacturing processes, including steel and stainless-steel casting, welded assemblies, stamping, aluminium extrusion, CNC machining, assembly and surface treatment.

Projects range from high-precision automotive components produced according to IATF 16949 requirements to commercial-grade components for various industrial applications.

Your mission: zero unclarities

At Alumess, we believe that successful production starts with complete and unambiguous documentation. Drawings, tolerances, material specifications and work instructions must be clear before a product reaches the shop floor.

If information is missing or open to interpretation, you identify the issue, determine the right solution and ensure it is correctly documented. You make sure that nothing is released for production while technical questions remain unanswered.What do you bring?
